I am a Seattle-based Editor at Factal, a leader in real-time, verified, and geolocated international breaking news, where I lead Central and South Asia coverage. I have had the immense privilege of covering a plethora of news stories, including the Ukraine-Russia war, Israel-Palestine conflict, Tonga volcano eruption, the 2022 political crisis in Pakistan, and much more. 

Prior to Factal, I have worked in digital media for organizations like Voice of America, TRT World and National Geographic Partners. I graduated from American University in Washington, DC, in December 2019 with a BA in Journalism, and a minor in in Transcultural Literature. 

I was born and raised in Wah Cantt, Pakistan, where I fell in love with journalism watching Pakistan Television's daily evening newscast. My love for this work only grew louder across continents when my family and I immigrated to Seattle, Washington, in 2008, in part due to the difficulties we faced in Pakistan as a religious minority. As part of my work as a journalist, I want to continue to cover underrepresented communities, and spotlight under-recognized voices.
